SPORT FOR CHANGE JOURNALISM
Category Description
This award recognises outstanding sports journalism that focuses on social and environmental issues, using sport as a lens to inform, challenge and drive understanding. It celebrates journalism that shines a light on inequality, diversity and inclusion, social justice and environmental challenges, and demonstrates how sport intersects with wider societal change. Entries should show strong editorial purpose, clarity of storytelling and meaningful impact. All entries must include an up to 500-word citation, detailing: the issues addressed the journalistic approach taken the significance and impact of the work
Entries should demonstrate:
- Clear focus on social or environmental issues within sport
- High standards of journalism, including accuracy, fairness and depth
- Insight and context, helping audiences understand complex or under-reported issues
- Sensitivity and responsibilityin reporting lived experiences and inequality
- Impact, contributing to awareness, debate or positive change
Entries may consist of either:
- Up to five written articles.
- A broadcast/audio/video showreel of up to 10 minutes.
- Five Social media examples.
- A combination of written work, clips and social examples within these limits.
